Axel Voss MEP is the Rapporteur of the controversial EU Copyright directive, which will be voted on by the Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee early next year.
The director of the library, DR Ulrich Meyer-Doerpinghaus explained to Mr Voss the digital services provided by academic libraries and illustrated their need for a science-friendly EU copyright reform and a true Digital Single Market.
After the visit, Dr. Ulrich Meyer-Doerpinghaus, Armin Talke and Natascha Reip stated they were “very pleased about the visit and the interests of the MEP in the implications of the EU copyright reform for scientific infrastructures and libraries.”
