Barbara Lison meets MEP Library Lover Prof. Zdzisław Krasnodębski
On Friday, March 10th, the Polish Member of the European Parliament and MEP Library Lover, Prof. Zdzisław Krasnodębski, visited the Bremen Public Library. Director, Barbara Lison, welcomed him in the Central Library. Prof. Krasnodębski, who also has a professorship at the University of Bremen, wanted to be informed about the wide range of services offered by a modern public library. He was impressed by the high number of visitors of all age groups and from many countries. The effect of a library as a learning and communication place was particularly important to him. He paid special attention to the fact that there were many learning tandems in the library, where Bremer and Bremerinnen communicated with refugees. Prof. Krasnodębski is a member of the EU Parliament and sits in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, as well as in the Committee on Culture and Education and in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairsas Deputy Member. In these functions, he is also responsible for European library matters.
